Event Details
The Michigan Original Hot Yoga Training is an all-encompassing, interdisciplinary, rigorous training program. It prepares the aspiring teacher to understand the Original Hot Yoga method from multiple perspectives (yoga philosophies, education, physiology, psychology, leadership, etc.) AND to embark upon the lifelong practice and discipline of leading and teaching the method.
- Part A: Theory, Context, Research, & Human Systems (Two 3-day weekends)
- Part B: Instructional Methodology, Teaching Practicum, & Energy Leadership (Four 4-day weekends, plus one 5-day completion week).
Successful completion of all portions of Part A AND Part B are required for OHYA-approved teacher training completion. Part A weekends can also be used as stand-alone programs for 1) yoga students who are interested in taking their practice to the next level, and for 2) current teachers who would like a continuing education immersion (60 hours total available in Part A). We are very excited to help create the next generation of Original Hot Yoga teachers in a way that respects the profoundness of this yoga method and lineage, and which also bridges the yoga with a number of relevant academic disciplines. Trainees and participants in the full program will not only cultivate the skills needed to lead therapeutic, focused, energized yoga classes; they will be able to connect the yoga to lifelong areas of interest and/or potential research, careers, and projects.
